Step 3: Select DVD Slideshow or Image DVD

The DVD Slideshow is will display all of the images in the same sequence they are added to the order, with optional music, borders and transitional slide effects. The DVD will play on a PC or TV. The images will be resized for the slideshow, and cannot be reprinted.

The Image DVD includes all the images in full resolution, with lab color and density corrections added by default so they are ready to print. The DVD will not have a slide show player or music, and the images will not have borders or text.

Select either the DVD Slideshow or Image DVD product, then continue to follow the steps below.

DVD Slideshow - Instructions

Click the DVD Slideshow product icon on the left panel to select the product.

Click the black box in the center panel to change the background and border options. By default, the slideshow will display images on the screen with a black background and no border. Use the edit tools to select a different border or background color.

Beneath the DVD Slideshow product on the right, click the Expand Options icon, then make sure "Hold Options" is checked. This will ensure that all borders, background colors, and DVD slideshow options are used for every slide in the slideshow.

Under the print options tab on the right are several options to control the slideshow. The most common options will be selected by default:

Video Options

  • Transitions:
The default transition "dissolves" from one image to the next. This is sometimes called "crossfade." You can choose "Random Transition Effects" for a more lively look.
  • Motion Effects:
The default choice is "No Motion." When you choose "Random Motion Effects," your images will slowly tilt, pan, or zoom for a "Ken Burns-style" effect.
  • Labels:
The default option does not show the file names as the slideshow plays. You can choose "Show File Names" if you want the viewer to be able to tell you which images are their favorites for proofing or reordering.
  • Music:
By default, we will add royalty-free background music to your slideshow. You can turn this off, or you can upload your own MP3 or WAV background music file.

Selecting Images - All Available

  • Click any image on the bottom panel, then press Ctrl+A (Command+A on Mac) to select all the images.
  • Drag the highlighted images to the center of the black box.
  • A confirmation box will ask you if you want to add a number of images to the slideshow. If you click "Yes" it will automatically add them to the cart in the order they are shown.

Selecting Images Individually

  • Drag any image from the bottom panel to the DVD Slideshow product.
  • Click "Add to Order."
  • Repeat until all images ordered. An image in a product will have a checkmark in the corner. An image previously ordered will have a shopping cart icon in the corner.
